Promise Auction: Bid here or on 15 July!

The St Mary’s Church Fundraising Group are organising an Auction of Promises that have been donated by church members. The promises are listed below.

We hope you will come to the event, at 7.30pm on Saturday 15 July. Entry costs £5.00 / person which includes light refreshments and non-alcoholic drinks and a glass of wine. Tickets can be reserved in advance in church from Pam Thomson or Vicky Rushton or email: or just come!

However, if you cannot attend, all is not lost! Your can email your bid and if that is the higher than offers on the day, you win!

Here are the current promises on offer. Email your bid to Jerry Marshall at by 4pm on 15 July.

A narrow boat experience. Trip for up to 5 people including a lock, Anderton Boat Lift and two tunnels.
A visit to the tower roof for 4 people – take in the view, see Weaverham from above with time to take photographs


Food to take away
Chocolate cake
Two course dinner for 2 delivered to your door (x2)
Village Show prize winning fruit cake
Pavlova for up to 8 people for a date of your choosing


Meals prepared for you as guests in the providers home
Dinner for 4 – 3 courses + cheese and biscuits + tea or coffee. Bring your own wine
Afternoon tea for 4 people



Craft and craft sessions
FIMO Nativity Set
Cross Stitch instruction session for  up to 3 people– materials will be provided
Earring making session for 3 people – material will be provided
Craft workshop e.g. card or home decor making in provider’s home, material provided, no prior experience required


“At your service”
Work in the garden e.g. tidy borders, cut lawn, help to make you garden manageable!
4 hours of DIY e.g. repair furniture; talk to David Whitfield to discuss your need
Your old photographs scanned and renovated – could be one or two albums


LATE ENTRY: two off £25 vouchers for holistic treatment with Nurit Therapies Weaverham, e.g. back message or facial

All proceeds will go towards St Mary’s Raising the Roof, our fund for work which needs to be carried out to make this lovely Grade 1 listed building fit for the future. So please be generous! You could think of it as a donation with a free fabulous gift!
