Abseiling raises over £4500!

Vicar Paul descends

Many thanks to the 59 people who abseiled down the church tower as part of an event for “Raising the Roof”! Between us, we raised over £4500!

We were blessed with an amazing day of sunshine for this and the family fund day.  Activities included Soft Archery, Skittles, Hook a Duck and a Treasure Hunt. There  were Bacon Barms from 10am, kindly cooked by 1st Weaverham Sea Scouts, and Cake served by the Mothers Union from 1pm as well as Tea / coffee / ice creams available all day.
The net total raised was £4,577. Proceeds will go towards St Mary’s Raising the Roof, our fund for work which needs to be carried out to make this lovely Grade 1 listed building fit for the future.
Thanks everyone!
