St Mary’s Church Weaverham are distributing fresh, surplus supermarket food at The Lighthouse Community Centre, Church Street, Weaverham between 9.30 and 11.30 on Wednesday and Friday mornings.
A big ‘thank you’ to Helping Hands, Northwich in Need for donating leftover supermarket food and to the supermarkets involved.
There is a selection of bakery products, pre packaged fruit and veg, and some flowers, at their sell by dates, free of charge. It’s a great opportunity to reduce food waste and support households that may appreciate some extra help at this time.
There was a good response on our first day of opening, 17 June. We hope to reach more families as word gets around. Do tell anyone you think might be interested.
