Baptisms and Thanksgiving

At St Mary’s we love to rejoice in the gift of new life and to help families celebrate the arrival of their children. To do this we offer families a ‘Thanksgiving Service’ where parents can name their children and thank God for their life.

To begin to help families in this process we invite them to attend a church service preferable an All Age Service usually on the first Sunday of the month in church at 10.30am.

Children are important to us as a church and every week we have “Kids4Christ” Sunday School and a Crèche running during the 10.30am service.

If later the family wish for a child to be baptised, then they should be regular in worship in the church and to attend a Baptism Preparation course over three evenings, where we explore the meaning and hope of the Christian faith, why baptism is so significant to Christians and the contents of the Baptism Service.
