We have created a Covid Corner in St Mary’s church to record some of the negatives and positives of the Lockdown. The corner features a new stained glass window which reminds us to be thankful for the NHS, food banks and food deliveries, vaccines and the church and community.
Also in the corner, located in the Wilbraham Chapel, you will find a Memorial Book to record anyone who passed away during the lockdown, a Book of Reflections to add anything you wish about Covid (including photographs). There are loose pages you can take away and later add to the books with your contribution. You might wish to write a poem, say a thank you, write about a new experience during lockdown, add a photo of a lockdown craft project, add a newspaper cutting or even leave a CD or DVD. Anything you like as long as it can be put in the books.
The books are available for anyone to make a contribution. You can download a page below and add your contribution; or type something (in A5 landscape format); or pick up a page from church. You can then either take your contribution to church or send it via email to the church office. The books are intended to contain contributions from the whole community, so please invite other people to also contribute.
The church is open before and after the 8.30am, 10.30 am and 6.30 pm Sunday services and from the 14 August it will be open on Saturdays from 10 am until Noon.
Please note that although the corner is in a church it is open to all, from any or no faith.
